Christmas season kicks off with Holiday in Haywood Nov. 9 – 10
BROWNSVILLE, TN (November 2, 2018): Getting a head start on your holiday shopping will be easier this year with more booths added to the annual Holiday in Haywood event November 9-10 at the Delta Heritage Center in Brownsville. This marks the 11th year for the two-day shopping event featuring local and regional retail and specialty merchants. There is no admission charge and attendees can browse booths filled with unique, functional and fun gift items.
“This is the second year we have been able to host the event,” says Sonia Outlaw-Clark, Delta Heritage Center director, “and I’m especially excited about the new items that are making their debut.”
New items this year includes trendy women’s clothing and accessories, knit and crochet items such as hats, socks, sweaters and scarves, birdhouses made from ‘rescued’ materials, cutting boards and other functional wood items, as well as handmade rope bowls. You’ll still be able to find wickless candles, jewelry, jams, jellies, ciders, sausages and cheeses, ladies self defense items, sewn and quilted items, children’s clothing, wall hanging and more.
The shopping will begin Friday from noon until 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., giving shoppers plenty of time to make their choices. Santa will make his first Brownsville appearance Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. Parents are invited to bring your cameras to capture the special moments with your child.
Holiday in Haywood is sponsored annually by the Brownsville Business Association and Friends of the Delta Heritage Center. For more information about the event call 731-779-9000, or visit www.facebook.com/HolidayinHaywood.
