April 2018: Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Mayor Rawls proclaims April 2018 Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Brownsville Police also signed a pledge to believe it when someone tells them that they were sexually assaulted. Brownsville partners with WRAP advocates in support.

In collaboration with WRAP (Wo/Men’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program) and the Jackson Police Department & Brownsville Police Department, Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities include Proclamation and Pledge Signing – 3/30; Roundtable Discussion at Tennessee College of Applied Technology of Brownsville – 4/3 with meet & greet @ 11:30 AM.

West TN Believes Law Enforcement Challenge – A friendly competition to encourage law enforcement across West Tennessee to sign the pledge to Start By Believing. Share your photos on social media, tag WRAP and use the hashtag #WestTNBelieves. The law enforcement agency with the highest percentage of signed pledges will be awarded at a special event at the end of the month.
