Brownsville’s Cinco Heritage Celebration set for May 1

The Brownsville Business Association, along with local partners, will present the 5th annual Cinco Heritage Celebration Friday, May 1, 6 p.m., on the south side of the Court Square. Food, games and other vendors will be onsite raising money for their favorite charities. Live music will take place throughout the evening and a Mexican Hat Dance competition will be included. The entire family is invited to come out and enjoy this free community event.

A first for the Brownsville event will be a hat dance competition. Sponsored by Las Palmas restaurant, participants are invited to perform your best Mexican Hat Dance for a chance at prizes and just plain fun.

Performers for the evening include Blair Simpson and the event headliner is Little Boys Blue.

“We’re really excited that this year we have Brownsville’s own Jimmy D. Taylor and Little Boys Blue performing,” says Cooper. “They are a favorite all over West Tennessee and it’s special that they will be performing once again on our square.”

Blair Simpson is also a Brownsville native who’s country ballads are known throughout the region. Other local bands and singers will also perform.
