Brownsville’s National Night Out is Approaching
The “32nd Annual National Night Out” (NNO), a unique crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), City of Brownsville, and Ward ll Neighborhood Watch, cordially invite you to be part of our NIGHT OUT event Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 at 1315 East Jefferson street (Practice field behind Eastside School).
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Brownsville NNO, is a FREE event which brings together all areas of the community to not only learn about crime prevention, but to re-discover over (50) community services and programs that are available in Brownsville and Haywood County. This year we will have entertainment featuring: The Barnett’s, Bobby and Becky Stokely, Word of Life Church, Jorge Melo Band, Sam Flagg and Smooth Jazz, Dave Rogers and Achana Jarrett just to name a few.
We will have games, inflatable jumpers, face painting and much more for children and the young at heart. Emergency vehicles and a helicopter will be on display, along with a crash simulator that you can experience. Free refreshments and door prizes donated by local businesses will help promote the event.
Please make plans to stay for the candle-light vigil that will unite the community to reflect and strengthen their spirit in our fight to take back our neighborhoods.
For more information contact Ward ll Alderwoman Carolyn Flagg 772- 0425 or Lt. Covington at the Police Department 772-1260.
