NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The City of Brownsville, an equal opportunity affirmative action employer, will conduct a Public Meeting on the 9th day of April 2019, in the Boardroom of City Hall at 111 North Washington Avenue, Brownsville, TN 38012.

The City of Brownsville was a recipient of TDOT’s Community Transportation Planning Grant in 2018 for the Anderson Avenue / Dupree Street / Mercer Road (SR 76/SR 19) Corridor Study project. As part of this effort, TDOT and Brownsville are conducting a public meeting to discuss and receive comments on the transportation goals for the study area, the future roadway system, land use, and safety. The planning area for the corridor study will begin at the Brownsville City Limits on Anderson Road at Interstate 40 (southern terminus) and continue north approximately 4 miles to the intersection of Anderson Avenue and Main Street. The study area will continue along Dupree Street from Anderson Avenue approximately 2.5 miles to N Washington avenue which is the northern terminus. The study area will also include Mercer Road beginning at the intersection with Dupree Street and continuing approximately 4,000 feet to the east to the City Limits which is the eastern terminus.

The meeting will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm during which time there will be a formal presentation and a question and answer period. The public is invited to ask questions and make comments during the meeting and will be given the opportunity to make their opinions known concerning the need for the project.
