Festivalgoers from all over the Mid-South will be in Brownsville, Tenn., Saturday, October 21, for the 14th annual Hatchie Fall Fest. The event has grown to attract more than 8,000 attendees during the family-friendly celebration that includes kid’s games and activities, cooking contests, live music, arts and crafts and lots of food. The event opens at 10 a.m. and continues through the evening on the town’s historic court square.

“We have some wonderful performers and events lined-up for this year’s festival,” says Sonia Outlaw-Clark, one of the festival volunteers. “We want folks to come out and enjoy their favorite musical styles, do some shopping and enjoy all the activities going on.”

This year’s entertainment will include Southern gospel, country, rock, rock-a-billy, rhythm and blues and more. Among the entertainers are the Barnetts, Tee Rainer and Company, Professor and the Bull, Roses Unread, Los Cantadoras, Mississippi Boomers and Sweet Angel.

The Memphis-based rock roots band Under the Radar will take the stage as headliners Saturday evening at 7 p.m. This band consist of three young men ( 13, 14 and 15 years old) who are taking the rock world by storm. They have opened for bands like Kansas, 38 Special, Loverboy, Saliva and more. The band started in 2014 and are also set to release their first album this fall.

Stage performances will also include the Haywood High School Show Choir and the Henderson-based step team Code Blue. From 1-4 p.m., you can hear Blues music on the Amphitheater stage provided by the West Tennessee Blues Society and featuring JD Taylor and Tyler Goodson.

Along with great music, festivalgoers will enjoy browsing over 100 arts and crafts booths and local merchant sidewalk sales. The Frozen T-shirt Contest is back, as are the Pet Show and Blessing, Cake and Pie Baking contest, wrestling, and corn hole competitions.
