Patrick Shields and Gregory Shields will be honored by the Brownsville Mayor and Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the regular city board meeting at 5:30 PM, City Hall, 111 N. Washington Avenue.

This tremendous honor is in recognition of their outstanding bravery which was demonstrated at our Tomcat Football Homecoming Game & Tailgating on the night of Friday, October 5th.

WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Brownsville, Tennessee wish to honor “The Shields Brothers” for their heroic acts: capturing the gunmen, securing the weapon, and potentially ”shielding” further harm from occurring.

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested as Mayor of the City of Brownsville, on behalf of the City Board of Aldermen and all citizens hereof, we will present Patrick Shields and Gregory Shields each with a Key to the City; it is not a key to any lock, but is the true key to the hearts of the citizens of Brownsville.
