BROWNSVILLE TN (March 1, 2019): “Lives, Lessons and Legacy” will be the theme for Brownsville’s annual Women’s History program, Saturday, March 9, 3 p.m., at Christ Church. Noted author, Haywood County native and cultural historian, Cynthia Bond Hopson, will host and facilitate a panel of local trailblazers and leaders.

This is the fifth year for the program led by Bond Hopson, whose books on Haywood County include The Women of Haywood: Their Lives, Our Legacy, Wiggle Tales and Times of Challenge and Controversy.

“The beautiful and phenomenal women of Haywood County will again be showcased at this annual event and I can hardly wait to hear what they have to say,” says Bond Hopson. “Each presentation gently reminds us that these amazing women and their lives really matter.”

Hopson explains that due to record attendance at last year’s event at the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center, a larger space was needed. “I am thankful that Christ Church has invited us to use their beautiful facilities. Expect to be inspired.”

Panelists will include Ida M. Coleman, Barbara Dedmon, Emma Rivers Delk, Brooke McCain, Minister Teresa Middlebrook and Patricia Thomas.
The program will conclude with questions from the audience and Bond Hopson will be available to sign copies of her books. This is a free program and the public is invited. Christ Church is located at 2120 Anderson Avenue in Brownsville, Tenn.
