In the rapidly changing world of technology, the Information Technology Department continually keeps the pace. This department is responsible for the development, testing, implementation and maintenance of information systems, network and technology for not only the City of Brownsville, but Haywood County Government as well. The IT Department also partners with specialized software and hardware vendors to assist when needed to minimize onsite costs and down time.

The Information Technology assists all offices and departments individually and collectively in achieving their technology goals by the effective deployment of IT hardware, software and services. This includes research and testing, end user policies, network infrastructure mapping, hardware configuration and technology related purchases. Through the collaboration and participation of all departments, the Information Technology Department can provide the highest quality and most cost effective technical support and services, which enables each office to better serve the needs of the public.

The primary goal of the IT Department in every aspect is to achieve maximum efficiency with minimal cost and down time.
