Kayla Watkins

The Director for 1 Safe Place Family Justice Center, Kayla Watkins, was raised in Jackson, TN and graduated from Jackson State Community College.  Through the years, she has worked as a Client Care Manager and in healthcare settings. She says that “helping others is what I feel like I’m called to do because at the end of each day, we are all just walking each other home.” As Director, she oversees daily operations at the center and collaborates with community partners/professionals to ensure victims of crime have the appropriate resources. Kayla is grateful to have the opportunity to serve the City of Brownsville and Haywood County Community.

1 Safe Place is a family justice center who provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child/elder abuse, and human trafficking. With the help of our amazing partner agencies, 1 Safe Place is able to be a safe haven for clients to be able to receive many services including assistance with filing orders of protection, filing police reports, receiving therapeutic support, and etc. For more information about 1 Safe Place and the services that are offered at the center, please visit our website at 1safeplacetn.org.

LaDawn Davis

The Navigator at 1 Safe Place Family Justice Center, LaDawn Davis, grew up in Brownsville and graduated from Haywood High School. She attended college at Union University and received her Bachelors degree in Social Work. LaDawn’s passion is helping others. She believes that meeting clients where they are in their life is an important step in building rapport with the client. She assists client in navigating next steps in their healing process. LaDawn is motivated in helping the community and is looking forward to seeing what 1 Safe Place will accomplish in the years to come.
