The City’s budget is a guide for revenue allocation and operations, an annual financial plan, and a means to communicate the complexities of municipal services to Brownsville’s citizens. The budget for FY 2015-2016 reflects a commitment to excellence in public service delivered effectively within available funding. This budget was developed based on the mayor’s goals and initiatives, an analysis of economic factors, evaluation of service needs, and the fiscal responsibility with a focus on sustaining services.
I am pleased to present this summary of the proposed FY 2015-2016
budget. This budget maintains the service levels which have supported our community for the past year, while continuing to acknowledge the need to carefully manage expenses.
