Public Works
The Public Works Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure which includes streets, sanitary sewers, storm drains, bridges and flood control. In addition, the Division is responsible for the collection and disposal of the City’s Solid Waste.
This department consists of:
- Street – Maintain streets and sidewalks
- Storm Water Maintenance Program
- Sanitation – Behind house pick up twice a week
- City Beautiful – Maintain our botanical park and historic downtown
- Cemetery – Maintenance
- Recycle Program
- Leaf Pickup – Oct 1st – March 31st
Some of the above services require requests be made to City Hall.
Recycling Program
Knuckle Boom Debris Pickup
The debris on every street in each ward is picked up every week Monday through Wednesday. This schedule may change to Monday through Thursday, because of down time, travel time or a larger volume of debris within wards.
