Brownsville’s Gospel Jubilee returns for Labor Day weekend
BROWNSVILLE TN (AUGUST 28, 2017): Brownsville will host its second Gospel Jubilee this Saturday, September 2. The evening concert will feature regional groups bringing you their favorite hymns, anthems and spirituals. Beginning at 6 p.m., the free outdoor event will be held on the grounds of the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs or enjoy bleacher seating.
“Last year was a huge success and we’re excited to be able to kick-off the holiday weekend showcasing our region’s favorite gospel music,” says Delta Heritage Center Director Sonia Outlaw-Clark.
Confirmed performers include Memphis-based Blues Gospel group Five Sent Out. This group of five musicians feature original songs in a Blues style that is different than what you expect gospel music to be. Traditional Southern Gospel will be performed by Southern Grace and Aretha Turner and Company will showcase their unique style of praise music. Joining the line-up is Will Channing Banks, a young man with a powerful opera-trained voice.
The event is non-denominational and everyone is welcome. For more information, contact the Center at 731-779-9000 or follow Facebook.com/WTDeltaHeritage.
