BROWNSVILLE TN (June 20, 2020): The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center and Tina Turner Museum in Brownsville, Tenn., is happy to announce the addition of Adriana Dunn to their staff. Dunn has taken on the responsibility of collections care and museum curator.

“I’m excited to have Adriana on board,” says Director Sonia Outlaw-Clark. “Having someone trained and skilled in collections care and able to create educational programming for our children is essential to taking the museums to the next level.”

Dunn, originally from Connecticut, has been in the Mid-South since 2017 and now resides in Brownsville. She holds a Masters in Art History and a Museum Studies Certification from the University of Memphis. Dunn has honed her skills at institutions such as the Art Museum of the University of Memphis, Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center, Brooks Museum of Art and the Metal Museum of Memphis.

“I am absolutely elated to be serving as curator to the Delta Heritage Center,” says Dunn. “Working at the Center is both rewarding and fun and I feel blessed that I am able to work with and preserve the incredible history of this area.”

Her responsibilities at the Delta Heritage Center includes assisting with daily operations, developing educational programming, managing collections and archives and organizing new exhibits within the museums.

If you follow the Center on social media channels, you have likely seen some of Dunn’s work, such as a weekly video series entitled “Curator’s Corner;” introducing pieces from the collections to followers on Facebook and Instagram. She has also started a trivia piece that runs each week on Instagram.

Dunn is married to William and they have one daughter, Livia. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, historical research and making pottery.
